Director, Emerging Manager/Venture Capital Practice
Navid Shahrestani is director of the Emerging Manager/Venture Capital Practice in Los Angeles. He champions the local venture capital market, working with general partners and their investment teams to help them grow. He thrives being the connective tissue for LA founders and investors within the LA venture ecosystem and contributing the local innovation economy.
Prior to his current role, Navid was instrumental in launching the early stage practice in LA for SVB. He was responsible for pre–Series A clients and actively engaged with entrepreneurs, investors and accelerators in the region. Navid also spent time with SVB’s broader tech banking practice, focused on debt financing and payment solutions, as well as private banking/wealth management opportunities for local venture-backed companies.
Before arriving at SVB, Navid spent three years in technology & venture corporate banking group at Wells Fargo, focusing on the middle and early-stage market in the rapidly expanding Southern California technology sector.
A graduate of USC’s Marshall School of Business, Navid holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a specialization in corporate finance. Navid is the co-founder of Young Venture Capital Los Angeles and serves as a mentor and speaker at the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy.
Navid grew up in Texas, loves traveling the world and spending time with family and friends. He’s a big-time sports fan, and when he’s not cheering on his favorite teams, he’s out on the golf course or finding fresh tracks in the mountains during winter.
