Roman is an industry expert on software development as a service, with extensive experience building and managing engineering teams at startups and enterprises, bringing innovative products to life. Roman was born and raised in the former Soviet Union and immigrated to the Bay at the age of 17. Following his childhood dream to become a ship’s captain, Roman studied at California Maritime Academy and spent a few of his post-college years at sea. Roman eventually found his passion in technology by building and leading engineering teams, spending the majority of his career at Hotwire and Expedia. In 2017 Roman co-found Zoolatech, a software development company that operates in the US, LATAM, and Europe, and focuses on providing engineering solutions as a service. Roman is a member of the Forbes Technology Council and serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the Wichita State University Barton School of Business.
